DREAMWASH, project by samdevos – EP out this week!

As some of you may know, samdevos is a busy man. Not only is he busy with all things FOR GREATER GOOD, he’s also a live musician with Vomito Negro, does nice things with SwanDream and still finds the time, inspiration and energy to make his own DREAMWASH sounds, an experimental electronic-ambient adventure that is really worth your attention.

And lots of people appreciate it, so it seems, because it landed him a deal with Deaf Owl Communication, the label founded by Roel Butzen (Bonzai Records, Violent Wake-up and others) and housing some other memorable new acts like VV303 (which you may recognize from the super remix he did for For Greater Good recently) and SteMaTik !

The first DREAMWASH EP will be out on November 29, 2012 and is titled “Double Sided E.P.”, containing the songs ‘Double Sided’, ‘Dark Secret’ and ‘Atmosphere Is For Breathing’.

Check out the Deaf Owl Communication site for audioclips, and in the meantime, watch the teaser trailer!

For Greater Good Remixed and Reworked! New batch!

Summer is almost gone so we decided it was time to continue our Remixed and Reworked series! We will release more new remixes periodically until they are all on Bandcamp.

Individual tracks are not downloadable anymore (for the moment); we decided to offer download of the full collection when all remixes are published, for a moderate price. At that time you will be able to buy ALL remixes in one go, in lossless format! People that already bought individual tracks, do not worry; if you decide to buy the whole lot afterwards, mail us and we will work something out.

Proudly we present the three new additions:

– An industrial/electro floorfiller by our long-time friend ETHAN FAWKES (B):
Ethan Fawkes – Love Your Terrorist (Ethan Fawkes Rmx)

– A droning dark soundscape by ambient/drone genius GENERIC (UK):
Generic – Ghosts and Memories

– A sublime electro-pop rework by GHOST from Ghost&Writer (B)
aka JM Lederman (The Weathermen) aka Jimmyjoe Snark III aka … :
Ghost&Writer – Rush Hour (Ghost Remix)

They were added to the album Remixed and Reworked, listen to all 9 up till now!

Enjoy!

For Greater Good song featured on dark ambient compilation

Priapus Twenty-Three is a very decent fellow.
Twice a year, he releases what he finds to be the crême de la crême of Dark Ambient.
And this year, For Greater Good is featured on Volume 4 with our soundscape-track “Rusted Revenge”!
Aired only once before on the “You Are Here”-compilation in abridged version, this is the full length soundtrack to an imaginary MechWarrior game.
Check it out here, the download is a Pay As You Please and also features some very fine bands such as Desiderii Marginis, Atrium Carceri, Akoustik Timbre Frekuency and ASBAAR.

For Greater Good – Remixed and Reworked – First Batch OUT NOW!!!

From 06062012 on we are going to release three remixes of the For Greater Good’s  “For Greater Good” album in our biweekly “Three FGG remixes Summer-Treat”… for this first batch we have selected No More (D), IoNiZeR (B) and Liquid G. (B). Enjoy!

We have always seen our project and the music we make as a seed to be planted in people’s mind, to grow into a big tree and into a forest over time…

It’s been growing for a while… the first branches sprouted just months after the cd-release in 2008 and still remixes are coming in.

We have been asking friends, bands we are fan of and fellow musicians for some time now to do remixes for us and now the time is ripe to release these unto the world. Some used to remix for years, others are new to the game or simply did the first remix they ever made in a long career.

Remixes range from industrial reworks, cover versions, pop-edits, breakbeat, triphop, electronica… from artists: 6SISS, Ater X Decem, Dark Poem, Dead Man’s Hill, Distant Fires Burning, Ethan Fawkes, Generic, Ghost, IoNiZeR, Le Moderniste, Liquid G., Maxx Impact, Mi5, Morph Control, No More, P.A.L., Phazon One, Red Audio Faction, Roel Butzen, Toshe Station, Traumasutra, Tzii, VV303, ZiBiT,… and many more to come… over the next months.

Review of “The All4s Sessions” on FestivalBlog.be

Reviews of “The All4s Sessions” are coming in, the first one is from the Belgian FestivalBlog.be, where Erik gives the release a big thumbs up! :)

The review is in Dutch, but we were so generous to translate in English… enjoy!

“For Greater Good consists of Izzy (compositions, synth, vocals) and Sam (synth, noise, loops, vocals) and bring a kind of ambient that takes you to higher atmospheres and lets you relax completely, a fact already proven in 2008 when they delivered their debut ‘For Greater Good’. This latest album is a compilation of songs recorded during a live session in “Kessel @ Veranda”.

For Greater Good also teams up frequently with other artists. Not only on this album: in 2010 they already collaborated with Japanese cult writer Kenji Siratori. Time and again you’ll be immersed in an intimate atmosphere by the use of soundscapes, and a dark sense of calm overtakes you. Things can become very intense, a fact already proven several times on stage.

On this album you can truly ‘feel’ the music to the depths of your veins, not solely by the contribution of Izzy and Sam themselves, but the exquisite soft violin background sounds pretty heavenly thanks to Evan Roy; not to mention Jonas G. providing additional sampling to complete the picture. The best way to listen to this album is to close your eyes and let yourself drift on the gentle waves of the sea. It’s actually a good form of meditation which we can strongly recommend.

Ambient music is a genre that is perfectly suited for the latter, and For Greater Good has managed to bring it to a higher dimension. Beautiful, intense and intimately enjoyable!”

Thanks Erik!

And of course you can still buy this album at “The All4s Sessions” page on Bandcamp.
